Ticket Application

All vehicles other than motor cycles and scooters must be 25 years or older. There is no age restriction for motor cycles and scooters.

For safety reasons, motorcycle and scooter owners must book in advance. Any motorcycle or scooter arriving without a ticket will not be admitted.

As the costs of organising the event are substantial and could expose us to making a loss should bad weather lead to its cancellation, the entry ticket donation for all vehicles is non-refundable.

Substitute Vehicles

Your ticket will display your vehicle’s registration number. If you need to come in a substitute vehicle it must be 25 years old or older except in the case of motor cycles and scooters. You must provide full details, including registration number, in advance, by emailing or by writing to Classics on the Common, 67 High Street, Harpenden AL5 2SL or, from 20 July, by ringing 07954 722616. Do NOT alter the registration number on your ticket. If a substitute vehicle doesn’t meet the minimum age requirement a spectator car park must be used.

Exotic Vehicles

We have had a long tradition of admitting a small number of modern ‘exotic’ cars and last year there was a great deal of interest in the Tesla. Spectators’ enthusiasm for the inclusion of these cars leads us to maintain this tradition. The decision as to whether or not a car qualifies as an ‘exotic’ rests with the event manager.

Entry Donations

Group A   Vehicles which are 25 years old or older: registered in 1992 or before

Group B   Vehicles that may have been admitted before, but not 25 years old

The minimum entry donation will be £12 for group A and £17 for group B: group B vehicles will be admitted from the earlier time of 11am. Group A vehicles can also come at the earlier time by making a minimum donation of £17: please note this clearly on the application form.

Motorcycles and scooters   There will be no age qualification for motorcycles and scooters but you will need to book in advance. Please note: no tickets will be available on the day of the event and any motorcycle or scooter arriving without a ticket will not be admitted. Entry will again be via the main entrance opposite the Silver Cup public house. The minimum donation will be £8.

Entry Time

The Common will open to vehicles at 2.00 pm. Please note that no entry will be allowed before this time.

Souvenir Plaque

A free souvenir plaque will be available at the Control Point for  exhibitors on a first come, first served basis. But you must produce your entry ticket.

Gift Aid

Because the show is held on common land your entry donation takes the form of a donation. To increase the value of that donation, without any extra cost to you, and provided you are a UK taxpayer, please tick the Gift Aid box on the Ticket Application Form. This allows us to claim from the taxman an extra 25% of the value of your entry ticket donation above the minimum and adds to the amount we’ll be able to donate to charities and other good causes.

The organisers, Rotary in Harpenden, request that exhibitors remain on the Common until at least 5.30pm. This is to minimise congestion when vehicles are arriving through the afternoon. We would also like to point out that barbecues are not permitted on the Common and as we are so limited for space, gazebos will not be allowed.
