Charities 2025
Thanks to the support of our trade sponsors, classic car participants and visitors, Rotary in Harpenden Classics on the Common has already raised more than £418,000 for charities and worthy causes since Rotary took over its organisation in 2009.
The principal charities being supported for 2025 are:
EMPOWERING KIDS IN KENYA (Bombolulu school)
The charity provides a totally free education, a safe and supportive environment, and an opportunity in life to the very poorest and most disadvantaged early secondary age children in Bombolulu, one of the most impoverished suburbs of Mombasa. We select children who, despite their desperate background, have already demonstrated the yearn to learn and improve in primary education.
With no money to pay for even state education, the alternative prospect for many of these children is an early exit from the school system, leading to unemployment, crime, forced early marriage, or exposure to the modern slave trade.
Our aim is to develop the whole child as well as giving them a great education, so they in turn can help the local community to advance and grow.

KEECH HOSPICE CARE
We provide free, specialist care for adults in Luton and Bedfordshire, and children from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes living with a life-limiting illness.
Our Care supports adults and children to live pain and symptom free, to spend untroubled time with their family and friends, to understand what’s happening to them, to stay out of hospital and to make the most of the time they have.
We’re proud to be rated good for our care services by the Care Quality Commission
You might be surprised to hear our care isn’t just provided at the hospice in Luton but in hospital, school, care or family home – wherever our support is needed the most.

HERTFORDSHIRE SCOUTS
Founded in the 9th Century, Hertfordshire is one of England’s historic Counties.
Scouting in Hertfordshire began formally in 1908, with 16 Districts, after Percy Everett met with Lord Baden-Powell at a dinner party and was encouraged to form a Scouting structure in the County. Hertfordshire now covers 18 Districts, split into over 180 Groups.
With such a big emphasis on adventure and outdoors in Scouting, Hertfordshire offers four Activity Centres within the County for all your camping and adventure needs. We also offer one centre in Scotland for trips further afar.
