A message for Classics enthusiasts
You can still donate
Sadly, we have had to take the unavoidable but necessary decision to cancel Classics on the Common 2020.
We will all miss a wonderful day of fun and fellowship, but the big losers are the charities – children’s, local, national and international - for whom you and others help us to raise significant amounts of money.
Charities benefitting from Classics on the Common in recent times include the Samaritans, Prostate Cancer UK, Keech Children's Hospice, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and MacMillan Cancer Support.
May we make two suggestions?
First, please help us to continue to support these good causes in their time of need by donating perhaps what would have been your entry fee. You can do this by simply clicking Donate now
Second, do make a note in your diary now for next year’s Classics on the Common: the provisional date is Wednesday 28 July 2021. Let’s try next year to raise a record amount for charity to make up for the disappointment in cancelling this year.
Rotary in Harpenden announce that following government guidance, Classics on the Common 2020 will be cancelled. Our next show will be held on Wednesday 28th July 2021.
We are also again making some operational changes to help congestion by erecting barriers and fencing on the previous day that hopefully will help ease the flow of traffic on the day. We again thank Harpenden Town Council, Hertfordshire County Council and the Police for their kind permission to carry out the work.
